On the morning of March 13th, Wang Wanchun’s Traditional Picture-story Books Exhibition was held in Huaqiao Cultural and Arts Exhibition Hall. The exhibition is themed on A World Within Limited Space and displays more than 600 pieces of picture-story manuscripts drawn by Wang Wanchun.
The traditional picture-story book that carries Chinese’s characteristics is an integral part of China’s excellent traditional culture. Perfectly combining formative arts with literature, picture-story book is vivid, concise and coherent in plots. That’s why it is quite popular among the public.
Wang Wanchun is a member of Shanghai Artists Association. He began creating picture-story books in 1976 and was once involved in drawing picture-story books such as the Three Kingdoms, A Dream in Red Mansions and Journey to the West. What makes his works unique is that he draws with Chinese brush, which brings more oriental sentiment to his works.
The exhibition will be open from 9:30-16:30 until April 13th (except on Mondays) and is free of charge.
