Tinglin Park

Tinglin Park is situated in the northwestern corner of downtown Kunshan, Jiangsu Province. As a rare urban mountain-and-forest scenic area in the Jiangnan region, it spans more than 1000 mu and was designated a National 4A Tourist Attraction in 2005. At the heart of the park rises Yufeng Mountain, a saddle-shaped peak that stands in striking isolation amid the vast surrounding plains, earning it the praise of being the “First Mountain of Southeast China.” The renowned garden scholar Chen Congzhou once remarked, “Among the unrivaled gardens of Jiangnan, half of their springtime beauty lies in Yufeng Mountain,” a testament to the park’s exceptional landscape value.

As a quintessential example of the harmony between nature and culture, Tinglin Park is grounded in verdant mountains and clear waters while embracing a rich reservoir of historical and cultural heritage. The park features flourishing ancient trees, extraordinary rock formations, and distinctive peaks, and brings together a variety of cultural and scenic resources—including the renowned “Three Treasures of Kunshan,” ancestral halls honoring notable figures, and several museums. Through the vitality of its intangible cultural heritage programs, signature events, and synergistic engagement with nearby commercial districts, Tinglin Park has emerged as a defining landmark of Kunshan’s cultural and tourism landscape.
