On Feb 17th, the last day of the Chinese New Year holiday, New-type Industrialization Promotion Conference was held in Kunshan. The city, via its very first conference of the new year, announced in high spirits its dedication to high-quality socioeconomic development through a new type of industrialization. The conference proposed to achieve the “12345” objectives within 3 years:
  “1” refers to increasing another 100 billion RMB in regional GDP, thus reaching 600 billion in total;
  “2” refers to increasing another 200 billion RMB in output from industrial enterprises above designated size, thus climbing to over 1.3 trillion in total;
  “3” refers to owning 3,000 enterprises above designated size;
  “4” refers to owning 4,000 new and high-tech enterprises;
  “5” refers to establishing 50 specialized professional innovation parks with a total industrial output of over 500 billion yuan.
  Kunshan aims to primarily build a competitive modern industrial pattern, cultivate a batch of influential industrial clusters in advanced manufacturing and stand out as a strong and new-type industrial city in China.
